Story
12th November 2009, Manuela Hooper passed away. In memory of this wonderful, kind, generous and vivacious woman, we're asking those who wanted to make a gift of some sort, to instead make a donation to Nyumba Ya Thanzi.
Manuela was one of Nyumba's biggest supporters, a believer in the Trust's ethos - to support Malawians with innovative ideas to help their own communities. In 2007 she was able to visit one of the projects that Nyumba supports, the HIV Nutrition Centre in Senga Bay and was impressed & moved by the dedication of Richard Moyo, the project founder and coordinator. She was a generous supporter of Nyumba, donating to her children's fundraising events and even using her 60th birthday as a fundraiser.
Although Manuela lived most of her life in England, she always maintained that she was 100% Malawian.
We’ll never understand why she was taken from us so young and we miss her more than we can ever express but without doubt our lives are richer for the time we had with her and we’re deeply proud to call her Wife and Mum.
With love,
Gop, Ayisha, Glyn, Stephen & David
