Story
Hello,
Thanks for clicking through to my JustGiving page! On September 11th I'll be cycling 55 miles from Clapham down to Brighton. I am excited and nervous! The percentage split between the two varies day by day and mainly depends on how much I'm thinking about having to make it up Ditchling Beacon (a Proper Big Hill).
Different charities officially partner with Skyline Events who put the ride on, but I specifically wanted to raise money for the National Association for People Abused in Childhood (NAPAC).
When you hear the term "child abuse," you probably immediately think of children who are currently being abused. As well as disrupting children's lives at the time, the impact of being abused in childhood continues into adulthood. People may not even realise that what they experienced was abuse or have the opportunity to access support until then.
That's where NAPAC can help. They support adults who experienced any type of abuse (physical, sexual, emotional, neglect) in childhood through offering free phone & email support, support groups and training for professionals. They also advocate for survivors of childhood abuse within policy.
£20 could help them to train more volunteers to take calls on their support line and £50 could pay towards a survivor support group.
I would really appreciate donations of any size and it'll definitely give me extra motivation to do some hill training.
Thank you for reading this and thanks again if you go ahead and donate.
