Assalaamu alaikum, 

It was always my dream to be part of a team to help build a Mosque or a Madrasa as a form of sadaqqa jariyah for my entire Family and all my beloved Decesed. But I never got that push until this pendemic (Covid-19) hit us all.

Credit where it's due, I thank Allah first and would also like to show my gratadute to brother Kamal (May Allah shower his entire family with the highest reward of janatul Firdawos! AMEEN) with his many years of dedication, knowledge and expertise in the Charity Sector has pulled us all together towards this amazing project.

Hence, my close friends and I have made an intention this Ramadhan to build a masjid in an impoverished community in Gambia. We are doing this seeking the pleasure of our Lord and Creator, and as a sadaqah jariyah for our parents, ancestors, ourselves and our future generations. 

Please donate generously, and we pray that every penny will be a sadaqah jariyah for you and your family. Every time someone gives the adhan in this mosque you will be rewarded; every time they give the iqamah, you will be rewarded; every time the people congregate for the 5 daily prayers, you will be rewarded; for every Jumu’ah Khutbah and salah, for every Eid, every tarawih, for every janazah prayed here, you will be rewarded; for every for fardh, sunnah or nafl prayer that is prayed in this masjid, you will be rewarded, and so will anybody else on whose behalf you donate.

Every donor that donates £100 or more can have their name included in a donors register that will be included in the building.

Many of us in our friendship group have lost at least one parent, and we all yearn to do good deeds and see them in Jannah. We want to do a project that will please Allah and benefit his creation, and we inspired by the Qur’an and ahadith.

“And those who believe and whose offspring follow them in Faith, to them shall We join their offspring, and We shall not decrease the reward of their deeds in anything. Every person is a pledge for that which he has earned.” [Surah At-Tur: 21]

Uthman ibn Affan reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him a house like it in Paradise.”

Ibn Umar reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The most beloved people to Allah are those who are most beneficial to people. The most beloved deed to Allah is to make a Muslim happy, or to remove one of his troubles, or to forgive his debt, or to feed his hunger.”
[Al-Muʻjam al-Awsaṭ 6192]

Please help us to help this community in Gambia. Currently people are praying in make-shift masjid made from sticks. We want to give them a safe, clean place where the young and the old can worship Allah in comfort. May Allah accept it from you and your family. Jazakum Allahu khairan!
