AzitaMaria's Macmillan charity gig

Macmillan charity gig · 2 April 2016
My name is Azita-Maria Rushton I'm 17 and have been actively raising money for Macmillan ever since my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. My family unfortunately has been heavily effected by cancer, When my mom was diagnosed I was only 11, it shook my family and everything changed, my aunty came back from Australia where she had been living for the past 15 years to support my mom and my dad moved away to a new job to support our family.
My mom successfully battled her cancer and is now all clear, she is the strongest person I know, throughout her illness she was always smiling always trying to get on and do things and not let it bother her I suppose with 5 kids that's what she needed to do. However just last year my aunty was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and is still continuing to battle it's a big struggle. It is very difficult to see how it tears apart my mom, but this charity gig will bring a smile to both of their faces, it's as much for them as it is for Macmillan, they are two of the strongest people I know and they deserve to have a smile on their faces.
My mom wouldn't have it through her illness with a smile on her face 24/7 without the help of Macmillan, the support and advice the nurses provided us with throughout the illness was amazing. Ever since my moms illness I've been determined to raise money for Macmillan and cancer research, I've held my own coffee morning, I encouraged my school to hold their charity day for Macmillan and I've also ran the race for life 4 years in a row, this charity gig is my biggest fundraising opportunity yet please donate to My charity gig to raise money for Macmillan.
Thankyou 😊
