I really struggled with what to write here, which is surprising for a comms girl! It's difficult to know what to say on a topic that can be very close to home for some people, yet foreign to others.
In short, I signed up to run 42 kilometres because people I love dearly are in need of a cancer cure. If they can conquer every single day, I figured I could take on a few months pounding the pavement across London.
But I need your help to get to the finish line and to fund cancer research to get us closer to that cure. I have 3 asks:
1. Research is the key to a cure. Give what you have to help fund pioneering cancer research. Donate on this page!
2. Increased awareness = increased funds for research = early detection or prevention. Share stories and talk about the warning signs and symptoms. Young people are not immune - my gorgeous friend was just 29 when she was diagnosed.
3. Tell me your C story. I like to dedicate my training runs to those touched by cancer – I admire the brave ones fighting on and honour the ones taken from us. I have about 350kms to sweat through before the big day (eeeek!) so there is plenty of time to think of them.
Stay tuned for updates - it's all I talk about these days!

Apparently you need a mantra to survive the last 15kms so I went with: "You are the sky. Everything else is just the weather."
