Cardiff Half Marathon 2019 · 6 October 2019 ·

We’re the only charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK and Channel Islands. That’s why we help children who’ve been abused to rebuild their lives, we protect children at risk, and we find the best ways of preventing child abuse from ever happening.

Story

I'm running the 2019 Cardiff University/Cardiff Half Marathon on Sunday 6th October. This is my first ever half marathon.

For those that have known me a while you will know I have never been a fan of running. After supporting my nephews and niece complete the junior park run I caught the park run bug. I now use running as a form of mindfulness, as well as exercise, which I promote to the students I teach.

After completing over 7 years teaching, I have seen my fare share of safeguarding. All children deserve to be children, to feel supported and loved. I have been made aware of the amazing work NSPCC do for so many children I have taught. Children who have been left feeling unloved and worthless. I wish to raise money for NSPCC to aid them in being able to continue their support with children and families. I wish for NSPCC to be able to broaden their work to reach every child in need.

Knowing I will be running the biggest run of my life for such a good cause will see me over the line! So please donate what you can to help and provide me with more motivation to finish with a smile.

Thank you for your support.
