A group of Veganuary supporters are heading to Kerala in India for two six-day cycling challenges, across two weeks, to raise funds for our work creating a kinder world for animals and a healthier planet!

Story

In February 2020 I will be taking part in a 392km cycle across Kerala in India with 40 other people from all over the world as part of an initiative organised by Veganuary. The project, Vegan Cycle India is organised by the Veganuary Group, who's objective is to promote a cruelty-free and healthy lifestyle with step-by-step guidance over the month of January. The work that they do reaches millions of members of the general public, encouraging them to try a plant-based diet for 30 days, providing resources, activities, recipes and more to help. They do all of this live-saving work purely from on donations to the charity.

In January 2019, a record-breaking 250,310 people from 190 countries registered for the month-long plant-based pledge. Half of these people were not plant-based. 51% felt their decision to stay plant-based was influenced by the discovery of great-tasting food. 63% of participants reported an improvement to their overall health. 98% said they would recommend Veganuary to others. 47% of participants stayed plant-based after Veganuary, and 77% said they would definitely consider going vegan again after Veganuary.

I have a goal of £1,000 to raise before the 31st January, which will help play a massive part in making 2020 a year for all species. This will be a huge challenge for me, both as a cyclist and an activist - I've never covered this distance before, never cycled in such a challenging climate, and have never attempted to raise this much money before. This is a challenge that brings all of my passions and beliefs together. It will require a great level of personal commitment and training, which will hopefully encourage more people to try out a plant-based diet.

If you would like to show your support for Veganuary and this important cause through this project, you can donate to the B12 Bikepacker Veganuary JustGiving page using the 'Sponsor Me' button below.

Let's make 2020 a year for the animals.

Peace love and power,
Daniel
