ARC Miles for March for Rosina

Miles in March · 1 March 2021 to 31 March 2021 ·
On 15.11.2020, Gwyn and I met and said goodbye to our tiny baby girl Rosina Williams after making the heartbreaking decision to end a desperately wanted pregnancy due to a prenatal diagnosis of T21 (Downs Syndrome).
The charity Antenatal Results & Choices (ARC) offered us invaluable, compassionate support during the most difficult time in our lives. They were at the end of the phone to help us try and navigate an impossible situation and ultimately make a decision no parent dreams they will ever have to make.
TFMR (termination for medical reasons) is sadly a very silent part of baby loss, due to how ethically complicated it is. It’s mixed up with an element of choice that moves everything to a very uncomfortable place. For us 'choice' felt like such an unfair word.
ARC offers non-directive information and support to parents before, during and after antenatal screening; when they are told their baby has an anomaly; when they are making difficult decisions about continuing with or ending a pregnancy, and when they are coping with complex and painful issues after making a decision, including bereavement.
The kindness we have received from this amazing charity will stay with us for the rest of our lives and we want to make sure they are able to continue supporting families who find themselves in a similar situation in the future.
I will be participating in ARCs 'Miles for March' campaign and would be really grateful for any support. The usual target distance is 100 miles, but as I live in the mountains I'm going to add an additional target of 10 miles vertical ascent! The weather is a bit unpredictable at the moment, so this could be on ski, snowshoe, foot or a combination of them all.
I will keep you posted on my progress throughout the month...
This is for your Rosina
