Theo's Burns Club provides support for both children and families who often feel isolated following a serious burn injury.

Theo's Burns Club is run by volunteers from the specialist burns team at the Sheffield Children's Hospital. This is a Regional Burns Unit and takes children from as far north as Whitby, across to Hull and south to Chesterfield. Most children's burns occur in the home, and are continuing to occur in this coronavirus time with families in lockdown at home.

In normal times Theo's Burns Club holds an annual "Party in the Park" with activities to support these children and families, and to raise funds for their activities through the year, including; special activity days, camps, and a Christmas Party.

Their first 10 years of "Party in the Park" were held in Endcliffe Park, though this years "Party in the Park" was planned for Millhouses Park on 31st May 2020 - and like many charity fundraising events is now cancelled. My wife works in this burns team and with many others put a lot of effort into preparing and hosting a successful day.

Having run >100 Hallam parkruns in Endcliffe Park, similarly moved to Millhouses parkrun, and with all parkruns suspended I have decided to raise money for Theo's Burns Club by continuing parkrun with 10 socially distant parkruns in our back garden. This being Sheffield, it is not flat, and 55 laps of our back garden is about 1000ft height gain for a 5km parkrun - more than the highest parkrun total height gain in the country at Whinlatter Forest parkrun with 674ft.
