Africa Foundation works with local organisations (NGO's) in Africa to ensure that children have access to their basic necessities. We achieve this through sustainable development projects. It works with locally established homes and schools, for street and orphaned children of Uganda, on sustainable development projects that fit well in their community. These projects fund the provision of food, water and health care for the children. They also provide vocational training skills in farming and crafts and empower the staff and children with a feeling of independence.

Story

A story of a passionate and competitive man with Compassion for the kids.

Professional boxing champion who has a superb boxing world record, he has used these talents to bring excitements to millions people. However, the star is also a philanthropist and is engaged in many good causes. One particularly close to his heart is HIV/AIDS and sports development especially in Africa.

Growing up in Africa Foundation some time ago: Twenty-seven year old Badru Lusambya arrived at a children’s home in Uganda when he was young teenager. His family was not in a position to care for him. “I would have become a street child without “Africa Foundation”, he insists. He was given shelter and lessons in the children’s home. He began focusing on training boxing and football, practicing every morning before school with his coach for extra practices; he went on to become a top professional boxing sports personality now rated with the top world boxing Council. The Uganda Sports Press Associations (Uspa) voted Badru as the sports personality of 2005. (Uganda Monitor May 3, 2005)

Badru remembers well the care provided by the children’s home. “I felt at home in the children’s home. I was able to grow up in a safe and secure environment. Moreover, there was money for food and education. The family supportive structure of the children’s home was also central of course. It helped me to become who I am today and I am proud to be a patron for Africa foundation l want to give other children more ambition to achieve their goal and to tell everyone NEVER GIVE IN/UP ON YOUR DREAMS” Badru Insists after arriving in UK for the first time. His hope and dreams are high now.He wants to win a world title to follow in his childhood boxing he·roes like, Ayub Kalule/John Mugabi/Sugar Ray Ronald/Oscar De La Hoya/Mayweather/Ricky Hatton/Muhammad Ali etc.

Sports Academy: Since moving to UK Badru has his dreams set up on becoming a world champion and set up a sports academy in Uganda. He continues to learn more every day in the sports circles and spends his free time in UK by working with youth organisation to train young people to keep them out of trouble and be fit, setting up a sports academy  in Uganda, will be my dream come true. This is an ongoing campaign for the project.
