NEWSFLASH!
20/06/2011 - Less than a week to go now, and preparations are trickling along nicely. We're pretty sure our boots are broken in and may or may not have waterproof jackets.
8/06/2011 - Disaster! We have lost a team member! Unfortunately Rhys has had to drop out due to an operation on his appendix. As much as we'd like a free helicopter ride and chance to see Prince William, we must agree with his decision!
>1 month - We have recently completed our first training walk, taking in Scafell Pike from Wasdale in the scorching sun... Before heading down we met up with ABF The Soldiers' Charity at Moor Park in Preston to support Andy McMenemy in his quest to run 66 UltraMarathons in 66 days! (see the challenge at http://www.challenge66.org/category/latest-news) and also see the pictures on the left... The walk was pretty much vertical the whole way, winding up a steep path all the way to the top. We took a brief rest, took some pictures then set off running back downhill. Overall time was just under three hours, so we look set to post a decent time on the day.
Further training walks are being decided as I write this!

We are taking part in the Three Peaks Challenge this June. In under 24 hours we will be tackling Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon to raise money for ABF The Soldiers Charity.
ABF is about about giving lifetime support to serving and retired soldiers and their families, and you will know how busy the Forces are at the moment.
ABF have seen a 30% rise over the past two years in applications from soldiers who have taken part in previous and current conflicts and they currently raise £7 million a year to meet this need.
As a result of Current Operations it is anticipated that the requests for assistance will rise significantly in the coming years. It is the aim of The Soldiers’ Charity to increase fundraising to £14 million a year by 2015 to be sure that we can help each and every soldier that needs our help.
They depend entirely on our donations and goodwill to do this, and this is why we are taking on this challenge.
Please help by donating however much you can
Thanks in advance from the Team!
