Building Resilience in Communities (BRIC) is a charity that provides services that increase the emotional health and wellbeing of children and adults. Providing services that are responsive to the needs of people and communities within Lincolnshire, reaching those that are isolated and vulnerable.

Story

Having been a member of Skegness Round Table for many years, I have been involved with many fund raising events but have never been arrested for it before!!

When Kathryn the organiser initially email me asking if Round Table would help, as we have done financially in the past,  I said yes I am sure someone would do it!

Sadly no other volunteers came forward (can’t think why!) and hence it’s me in the cells….

This year my role is Social Services convenor and I am also Table President, so I guess I sealed my own fate.

But to be honest it’s really a privilege to help charities such as this who really do make such a difference in our community.

I have been fortunate via Round Table to see the work Home Start do and the excellent results they achieve for the Families and Children..

Home Start supports parents in situations as diverse as isolation, bereavement, multiple births, illness, disability or who are just finding parenting a struggle. They provide a non-judgemental practical and emotional support and help build the family’s confidence and ability to cope.
