Nephrotic Syndrome (NS) affects approx 10,000 people in the UK, majority are children, with no known cause or cure. The current treatment is non-specific and highly toxic, with many potentially life-threatening complications. NeST funds Bristol Children's Hospital in researching NS to find a cure.

Hi im baileys mum Hannah bailey has made this page his self,he has had nephrotic syndrome since he was 5 years old NS is where the kidneys leak protein into the body, when he first got it he got very ill now when he gets a bug his nephrotic syndrome starts up again this has happened 6 times since  2006 when this happens he needs steroids  but  they make him moody and sad it must be very hard for him because he doesn't  know why, while hes on them he can get very ill from things like chicken pox so we have to be very careful. at the moment he should be fine having  steroids but as there's no cure yet known this can develop in to kidney failure meaning dialysis or transplant that may not even work as NS can then develop in the transplanted kidney aswell,we can only hope they can find a cure before then and to do this they need money as yet they don't know how children get it it just happens its very rare.NeST do a fab job and need more funds to help our son and others like him. every amount big or small will be great and will make bailey-rhys very happy (and his mummy and daddy)

19th jan 2010 Bailey has now been off steroids since the 23rd of dec 2009 we are hopeing for a long remission this time as baileys had enough illness to last him a life time.

Jan 2011 Baileys still off all meds :0) Thank you for your donations

2013 has been baileys worse year we are on relapse number 4 and curently on week 4 of the steroids not working. I don't know where to start so I will update properly when I get on my lap top as it's going to take me a wile......15/12/2013
