Assalaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,

I am fundraising for the people of Yemen who are painfully enduring the largest humanitarian crisis in the world. More than 24 million people – (that is 80 per cent of the entire population) are in urgent need of humanitarian assistance, including more than 12 million children. 

I cannot begin to imagine what it must be like to live in a country ravaged by war, where men, women and children are starving to death due to famine, and almost every single family has been affected by cholera in some way, and to then face a global pandemic such as Covid-19 whilst more than half of the country's health facilities are not even operational. And of course, the further threat of winter now looms. SubhanAllah.  

Allah SWT tells us: "If anyone saved a life it would be as if he saved the life of the whole of humanity.” Quran 5:32

For this reason, I am trying to raise whatever I can in the hopes that Allah SWT will allow it to be a means to help even one precious creation of His to survive this perfect storm of disasters.

Islamic Relief is currently on the ground in 17 of the country’s 22 governorates, delivering aid to many hard-to-reach areas, providing food to 2 million people every month and supporting167 health facilities across the country to enable doctors and nurses working to treat wounded, sick and malnourished people.
