Story
Its 21 miles across the channel or 33,800 metres. Weve expertly(!) calculated that an average person would swim 50 metres in a minute or 3,000 metres per hour and so could complete the crossing in around 12 hours. We will begin our swim at 7am and aim to finish by 7pm and will be joined by Foundation ambassadors, beneficiaries, staff and supporters and wed love you to join us!All funds raised will go towards the hydrotherapy pool/extension (hence #getbusyswimming!) and it will be a great opportunity in a safe, supportive environment for those beneficiaries that want to get back in the water following their injuries to do so.
Our Balance Street Health Centre team are participating because the Foundation has helped one of our team, to get back into cycling after his serious injury in 2011. You can read about how they helped Tim here:

As well as Tim doing his first open water swim since his accident, we will also have some other members of the practice joining in. Fiona is our business manager and an experienced open water swimmer. Owen, one of our GPs, is a world class triathlete who regularly competes for Ireland in international age-group events. We are still trying to recruit a few more to join us!
