Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. A team of employees from across the Banks Group are undertaking the National 3 Peaks Challenge over the weekend of 14th - 16th September to raise money for our nominated charity for 2018 - Bright Red.
The challenge includes climbing the highest peaks in Scotland (Ben Nevis), England (Scafell Pike) and Wales (Snowdon) all in 'one go' in a 24 hour period. Covering a walking distance of 23 miles (37km), a vertical ascent of 3,064m (10,052ft) and a driving distance of 462 miles. For more details see: https://goo.gl/sxp751
Training began in April and members of the team have already conquered the peaks of Roseberry Topping, Helvellyn, Blencathra, Skiddaw and Scafell Pike as they condition themselves in preparation for the big day. None of the team have taken on anything like this before, so it will be a huge challenge - both physically and mentally - for all involved.
The team are raising money for Bright Red, a charity established to improve the lives and treatment of people in the north dealing with blood cancer. Through patient care, research and education they strive to beat illnesses such as leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma, myelodysplasia and myeloproliferative diseases. David Wilson, applications development analyst at the Banks Group nominated Bright Red to be our 2018 annual charity after experiencing the invaluable support they offer when he was diagnosed with myeloma in 2014. David has since recovered and been in remission for 3 years - championing the charity ever since.
Please give what you can, all donations are gratefully received.
