Remembering the Amani Centre · 20 April 2023

The Charity supports efforts to bring relief to deprived families and individuals in Tanzania, in particular children with disabilities. We focus on community-based rehabilitation and educational development projects in collaboration with the Amani Centre, Morogoro and other partners in Tanzania.

Story

Thank you to everyone who supported me this year.  There was a great response and when I visited last October, we were able to achieve quite a lot.  We upgraded the equipment in the physiotherapy room with new mattresses and exercise balls, as well as new furniture such as standing frames and corner seats.  We also repaired and serviced the tractor, ready for the growing season.  This was expensive, but essential for their food security.

I will be returning soon for a month. When I was there last time, we identified the projects that are next on the list, including the purchase of a small piece of land to be converted into a vehicle-free play area and garden for the children - very exciting.  There is also an orange grove to replant, and a dormitory at the Special School to furnish with bunk beds and mattresses.  So quite an ask this year!  I always wait until I am there, before making final decisions about projects , in order to see what the current priorities are, and what monies are available.

Thank you all so much for your support..
