Thank you for visiting my just-giving page.   In May 2023 I will be participating a sponsored Trek, walking over 70k along the Great Wall of China, discovering the land of the dragon and raising funds for Let's Grow Preston.

Let's Grow Preston is an environmental charity working in Preston, Lancashire. 

They help local communities brighten up their areas and greenspaces through gardening to improve wellbeing.
 
They are a community run organisation with members from all parts of Preston including South Ribble. They welcome everyone from all backgrounds and levels of experience.

They promote physical and mental wellbeing through volunteering in horticulture by creating and improving green spaces in Preston to impact the lives of people living in those communities.
 
Let's Grow Preston empowers communities and individuals through projects such as community gardens, improving woodland and park areas, education within food growing, volunteering and providing training within horticulture.

They are based within Ashton Walled Garden located on Ashton Park. They have an abundant community garden which is used for training, volunteering and growing stocks of plants. They also run 2 community gardens in Grange and 1 in Waverley Park in Ribbleton.
 
Let's Grow Preston provides a network to help support communities and members by sharing resources and materials, creating projects and workshops, to help grow together.


The trek starts in the remote town of Huangyaguan, we'll follow the Wall through rugged, green countryside and traditional local towns to the city of Beijing.

We’ll encounter all kinds of terrain, from both ancient and restored sections of the Great Wall itself to forest trails, quaint village roads and rolling green hills and mountains.

Our adventure will end at the city of Beijing, where ancient history collides with futuristic technology.
