Story
Dear Friends
As you know, I've spent the last few years travelling the world, seeing some fabulous sights and making some wonderful new friends. Now, in my 66th year, I've decided to raise some money with my next trip - hiking in Cambodia!
The six day trek will, I'm sure, be both arduous and challenging, but I'm really looking forward to it. Over that time we'll be doing 109 hilly kms, in hot and humid conditions, finishing in Angkor Wat.
In doing the trip, I'm trying to raise as much money as possible for MacMillan Cancer Support . Over my 40 years of nursing I've seen at first hand the devasting effects cancer has on both the sufferer and their family and friends. And sadly it's still something none of us can ignore, with one in three of us still at risk of falling victim to it.
However, in my fashion, I've left it rather late to start fundraising, and so will probably be paying nearly all of the £3,000 myself.
If you would be kind enough to donate to my fundraising trip that would be fantastic. At least 66% of any money received before 14th September will go to MacMillan and all of the money received after that date. (Obviously I'd be really grateful if you could sponsor me before the 14th, but just as pleased with any money received later as well!)
I look forward to letting you all know how i got on, and will try to email from Cambodia.
Lots of love and God bless.
Barbara
