The number of people diagnosed with cancer is growing, we're doing whatever it takes to help more people with cancer get the best care the UK has to offer, whoever and wherever they are. To donate, volunteer, raise money or campaign with us, call 0300 1000 200 or visit macmillan.org.uk

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.Fundraising is hugely important to Macmillan. Without people doing events, running marathons, climbing mountains, and donating in all the other ways that you can, Macmillan wouldn’t exist.Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs.

On the 16th, 17th and 18th June 2017, myself and 11 others, intend to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer by cycling from Coast to Coast (C2C).

This is a well known cycling route/challenge and here are a few facts:
The total distance (except detours) is approximately 140 miles.
We will start in Whitehaven on the west coast of Cumbria with a variety of both on and off-road trails, ending in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear.
It is claimed to be Great Britain’s most popular long-distance cycle route.
The highest point of the ride is 2000 feet above sea level.
The C2C is completed by an average of between 12,000 and 15,000 cyclists every year.
On this adventure we are being supported along the entire journey by a support vehicle, provided by Schiedel Chimney Systems in Washington, which is where the majority of the other 11 riders work, 1 of them being my friend Andy who has organised the whole event so a big thank you to him. This vehicle will carry our clothes (likely be thermals going off our current weather), refreshments along with repair tools if needed and will be driven by John (Andy's father) who has completed this cycle ride twice himself.
