Story
Hi All....Recently our family has become acutely aware of the challenges and difficulties that come with dealing with Cancer and its associated treatments. My younger sister Áine was unfortunately diagnosed with Breast Cancer in Autumn 2022. While watching the courageous, positive and "bring it on" attitude she has shown in the face of this horrible illness first hand, I have decided as a show of support, solidarity and in an attempt to raise much needed funding to assist the daily needs of those living with Cancer, to run what will be my 1st (and last) Marathon in London on 23rd April 2023.
I fully appreciate that this may not be an opportune time to seek fundraising in the midst of an actual cost of living crisis, however any donation, no matter how small, will be genuinely appreciated and will bring much needed support and comfort to those Macmillan help on a daily basis.
Please feel free to share this appeal far and wide if possible among friends and family and in the meantime I'll be attempting to get myself in reasonable condition to make sure I'm on the start line at the end of April!!
Many thanks,
Barry McCormack
Thanks for supporting my fundraising. Macmillan gives people with cancer everything they’ve got. If you’re diagnosed, your worries are Macmillan’s worries. Macmillan’s doing whatever it takes. But without your help, Macmillan can’t support everyone who needs them. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and secure. Your details are safe, JustGiving - they'll never sell them or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity.
