Lewis Moody and team are taking on the epic headwest Coast to Coast Challenge, supported by YCO, in aid of The Lewis Moody Foundations this December

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

In 2016,  Figgis,  a good friend of Barry's died of a brain tumour. He was a larger than life character that never stopped fighting (and laughing!), staying positive right until the end. His long hard battle sadly ended last year but his memory lives on.

Having attended a Lewis Moody Foundation Ball earlier in the year, we were blown away by some of the stories being told and amazed to learn that brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer of children, with a child dying every 3 days! We were also very moved by the incredible work being done by the Lewis Moody Foundation and felt that we were in a fortunate enough position to help.

We have therefore agree to join Lewis in Costa Rica, battling jungle and river, volcano and white water on this ambitious journey. Camping overnight in remote locations, attaining altitudes of over 2,300m and enduring a vast range of weather conditions from extreme heat and humidity to cold fog and sudden downpours, this is a true expedition through the wilderness of Costa Rica. We will be trekking, mountain biking, kayaking and rafting, so this is a serious test and your donations will greatly help our motivation!

We are funding 100% of the trip personally so any donations will go directly to this amazing cause. We have set an ambitious target and we really appreciate any donations you are able to make.

Thanks

Barry and Jon
