What is the Marathon Des Sables?

250+ kms (156 miles)

 Six stages over seven days

 A long stage of 80+ kms (52+ miles)

 Self-sufficient, but with water rations and communal goats’ hair Berber tents supplied and pitched each night

 Temperatures of more than 50°C

In the past I have completed a half Ironman and multiple assault courses including a 40 mile Rat Race but the Marathon Des Sables has always been on my "bucket list". I'm always looking for the next challenge in life and as this is tagged as 'The toughest footrace on earth' it has always appealed to me!

I'm going to be doing the event to raise money for a cause very close to our hearts and in memory of Lesley Hackett. Lesley suffered from MND for 4 years and in this September, it will be 7 years since she sadly left us. Lesley was a huge part of our lives providing endless support and was also a very important part of get Bphysical/THECLUB up and running.
