So having initially entered to run the 2021 Brighton Marathon and due to Covid ending up running a virtual Marathon back in April 2021, I cant help but feel I missed out on the buzz of a big Marathon Event and that the bucket list box is not yet ticked. As a result, I entered the ballot for this years London Marathon, only to wait 6 months for the disappointment of not getting a place, at which point I thought I had put it behind me. But clearly not, for enter stage left Karan Deacon and the Queen Elizabeth Foundation for Disabled People. Having visited their new facilities at Leatherhead back in April, and being inspired by the amazing team Karen has there, I was convinced and delighted to accept a place in the London Marathon on their behalf on 2nd October 2022. That is what brings me to this point….. With what is now less than 19 weeks to Race Day and the knowledge that I will need to cover between 300 and 400 miles between now and October 2nd, I am looking for your encouragement. Not only to help me cover the training miles, but more importantly to support the amazing work that Karen and her Team are doing at QEF. It doesn't matter how little or much you give, but knowing you have given something will be enough to encourage me out to run, even when I really don't want to. Thanks in advance and I will keep you updated with training progress! Barry
