After completing the London Marathon back in 2006, 26.2 miles of pure emotion, I looked back and thought that without the generosity and support from everyone around me, I would not have made it across the finishing line.

 

But this year I have more than 1 reasons to finish, firstly it is Wizo’s 90^th anniversary and sadly my grandmother passed away in March last year, so that is why I wanted to run the marathon for Wizo in her memory.

My grandmother, Rose Silver was an active member of the Dollis Hill branch for over 60 years, and held the post of vice chairman. As she lived with us, our home and my childhood was regularly filled with Wizo meetings, raffle books and collection tins. I remember spending many Sunday mornings helping out at numerous Jumble Sales and at the Wizo shop in Cricklewood.
