We provide people with free hospice care to enable the terminally ill to die at home

Story

On Friday 24th May 2019 we will be shaving our heads to raise money for the Lawrence Home Nursing team. A local charity that is very close to our hearts.

They are a team of dedicated, voluntary professionals that provide nursing care at home for the terminally ill in Chipping Norton and the surrounding area. A service that is second to none, providing respite and delivering excellent palliative care with compassion and empathy.

We have been inspired by many of our customers at Bartholomew's Hair, who have come into the salon and asked us to cut their hair off so that they can donate it to charities such as The Little Princess Trust.

As Hairdressers we know how important hair is. We know that it is a big part of your identity and it can make you look and feel great. We pride ourselves in our work everyday and we also take pride in our own appearance and hair, which is why it is such a big thing for all three of us to have all of our hair shaved off.

We really hope that by doing this we can raise a fantastic amount of money for such a wonderful charity.

Local GP Dr. Martin Lawrence's dying wish was that patients in his practice should be able to die at home; his work was made reality through the work of District Nurse Jane Phillips MBE. The service has grown and now provides free hospice at home care covering five GP practices in Oxfordshire.
