Story

ALL FUNDS RAISED WILL BE SPLIT EQUALLY BETWEEN TEENAGE CANCER TRUST AND GIVE A DUCK.

Following the success of last year’s ’Struggle’ challenge, Bartlett is pleased to announce that the Struggle event will be returning for an even more challenging programme of activities which are designed to test the strength, will and stamina of our brave competitors. This years challenge will be split into two events, neither of which are for the faint hearted:

Challenge one
The first of the two challenges consists of a pre-breakfast one-mile open water swim around Derwent Island, followed by a mammoth 40 mile bike ride taking the notorious Honister Pass, Newlands pass and Whinlatter Pass, then finishing off with a mountainous hike with the other team up the Lake District’s famous Catbells mountain.

Challenge two
The second of the two challenges consists of a pre-breakfast one-mile open water swim around Derwent Island, followed by a gruelling scramble around Stoneycroft Ghyll leaping through waterfalls and jumping from heights, then finishing off with a mountainous hike with the other team up the Lake District’s famous Catbells mountain.

Our chosen charities this year are the Teenage Cancer Trust, which is a cancer care and support charity in the UK that exists to improve the cancer experience of young people aged 13–24, and Give a Duck, who support young children who have been diagnosed with cancer throughout the UK. All funds raised will be split evenly between each charity and will be matched pound for pound by Bartlett.
