The Cambridgeshire High Sheriff Awards Scheme which is run by Cambridgeshire Community Foundation. These Awards are targeted at small charitable organisations in the county, particularly those which engage young volunteers.  Many young people face disadvantage and difficulties because of poor mental health, bereavement, disability and long-term illness. Others have limited support and little opportunity to develop and flourish because of the low aspirations or low family incomes. Volunteering can be a transformative experience, and the help that CCF provides through the High Sheriff Award Scheme can make a real difference to a large number of people at the grass roots.
