Story

Hi,

Those of you who know Louise and myself, will know that we are completely bonkers. In keeping with this, we have signed up to complete the London Marathon on 4th October.

This would be a ridiculous challenge for anyone, especially with it being so hard to train for substantial periods of this year. For us though, this will be an even more amazing challenge to complete; as we have both overcome significant barriers to exercise over the past year or so.

When we both started our training journey, we were overweight, unhealthy and extremely unfit. I could barely walk 10 meters without sweating, being out of breath and hurting all over. This was a pretty dark time for me. We actually met each other in a circuit class at the gym, and bonded over our joint hatred for burpees.

We are not just putting ourselves forward to do this to raise money. We would also like to use our own journey to motivate others. Anyone has the ability to become the healthiest and happiest versions of themselves. The fact that we are willing to put ourselves forward to run the London Marathon, shows that no matter how bad you feel - it is never too late to make a positive change. All it takes is a lot of Persistence, determination and dedication.

We are also raising money, and will be fundraising for the Cornwalls Women’s  Centre. They are an amazing organisation, that provide help and support to so many people! In the work that both myself and Louise do, we come into contact with many women who face; sexual exploitation, rape, domestic abuse and the trauma that goes alongside this. The Women’s  Centre specialise in working with these survivors and make such a difference to their future.

Please support us on completing this challenge, by donating a couple of pounds. The donations and support that you guys give us, will most definitely keep us motivated over the 26 miles.
