Bawtry Marathon Weekend · 26 April 2015

Child Bereavement UK help children and young people (up to age 25), parents, and families, to rebuild their lives when a child grieves or when a child dies. Child Bereavement UK also provide training to professionals, equipping them to provide the best possible care to bereaved families.

Story

On the weekend of the London Marathon (25th and 26th April), Gav Scott, Paul Savage, Nik Pratap & Andy Hayward are taking on the daunting challenge of running two half-marathons in two successive days around Bawtry and Doncaster.

This is a challenge that none of us have come close to achieving before – some (not all ) of us have completed single half-marathons in the past. The step up to doing two over the course of weekend will introduce us all to the horrors of ice baths, cramp and a long period of recovery!

Our inspiration for this event comes from one of Nik’s closest friends – Peter Howarth who tragically lost his little daughter Pippa on April 10th 2014. Pete is running the London marathon this year to raise money for Child Bereavement UK. All of our fundraising will go to Peter’s cause and will support his target of £5000 for the big race. Our challenge is large but not so great as Pete’s (further details can be found on https://www.justgiving.com/Peter-Dave-London-Marathon/ )

No contribution is too small so please sponsor us for whatever you can – every penny will be a major motivator to the four of us, will support Pete and will go to an extremely worthwhile cause.

We would love for our numbers to grow - whether you want to do both days, one day or just part of the course. Lets spread the fun and the pain!
