Bayley's Classroom in the Clouds (Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service) · 21 March 2022

Nepal is a land of mountains: both awe inspiring peaks and the barriers that stand in the way of children’s schooling and women’s aspirations. Classrooms in the Clouds supports education in the Solukhumbu by building safe classrooms, training female teachers, and tackling gender inequality.

Story

I amongst other Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service apprentices will be travelling to Nepal in march 2023 with the charity classroom in the clouds to  complete a school for children.

Nepal is a very poor country with minimal infrastructure, significant health issues and poor rates of literacy. Many children are required to support their family at home and if they do have the opportunity to go to school they have to walk long distances to unfunctional buildings not safe or fit to learn in. The charity classroom in the clouds provide teaching for teachers, materials to build schools and classrooms.
