Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are three dads, Louis, Chrissy, And Sam.

Our kids are all in the same class at Bowdon Church School.

We were once children too! Cheeky ones.

We are raising money for Apart of Me because...Louis told us to (and he co-founded the charity and is very bossy).

But apart from that, we all really care about children. We want to make sure that chilldren who have a difficult start to life get the support they need to set them on the right path. We know that when a children experiences an adverse event - like when a parent or loved one dies, or when their parents divorce, or if they experience the trauma of war - these children can really struggle with life and sometimes develop  life-long mental health issues.

So we want to do our bit to help make sure these kids get the support they need. Apart of Me is a charity that  exists to help children and young people who experience loss and trauma to find the right path. They are a multi award-winning charity dedicated to supporting children, young people and parents through their darkest moments. They combine world-renowned clinical expertise with innovative design.  They work across the UK and have an international crisis response, such as their recent Nadiya project – developing a new digital mental health service to help Ukrainian children and parents through the trauma of war. They  created a highly acclaimed therapeutic mobile game to help young people through grief, a service now recommended by leading mental health professionals and services around the UK and overseas. They provide advice, advocacy and training - including a Guides programme, which trains bereaved young people to be grief mentors, and a schools programme where they teach children design thinking to help them solve life problems.
