Together as three Student Nurses and one Nurse Lecturer we’ve decided to hike and (hopefully!) conquer the highest mountain in Wales, Snowdon. We’ll be covering a distance of approximately 13km over a variety of terrains with steep inclines and declines, come rain or shine!!
Nursing is our passion. It is who we are and it is what we do, but we also know and see first hand how hard it can be from a personal, professional and financial standpoint. It can really begin to take its toll in so many ways, and the reality is, any of us could find ourselves in a situation where we needed help. Where would we turn? Cavell Nurses’ Trust are there to bridge this gap for healthcare staff who are experiencing personal or financial difficulties, many finding themselves at crisis or even breaking point. We know we can help, so the question is really, why not? Let’s help the people that look after us, to look after themselves.
Please give what you can :)
* Disclaimer - we are in no way sponsored or endorsed by Birmingham City University. This is a self-funded trip and we have a combined total of a £1000 target to reach to be able to participate and take on the challenge, so please please consider sponsoring us. Thank you 😊“Not only are nurses twice as likely to suffer financial hardship, but they are three times more likely to face domestic abuse than the public” (Cavell, 2018).
Cavell Nurses' Trust are here for UK Nurses, Midwives and HCAs, whether working or retired, with money and support when they are living through personal or financial hardship, often because of illness, domestic abuse, disability, working poverty and older age.Put simply, we’re ‘Here for Nurses’.
