Human Appeal are working with our partners and teams on the ground to assess how best to support families and villages, not only in the immediate aftermath, but going forwards too. Help us to restore vital access to water, food and medication to those affected by the devastating floods.
In a statement, the government issued a warning that water in all major rivers, roughly 130 across the country, is only continuing to rise. A nation of 160 million people, Bangladesh is low-lying and faces threats of climate-change-related natural disasters such as floods and cyclones. According to the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, about 17 percent of people in Bangladesh would need to be relocated over the next decade or so if global warming persists at the present rate.
