We rescue marine wildlife around the UK to relieve their suffering

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit British Divers Marine Life Rescue midlands page.  BDMLR are a network of trained volunteer marine mammal medics who respond to call outs from the general public, HM Coastguard, RSPCA and SSPCA. In fact, they are the primary marine animal rescue organisation in the country and are not only called upon by the other emergency services, but also train their staff.

BDMLR is a registered charity and has more then 3,500 volunteer medics. The rescue teams are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

BDMLR have a wide range of equipment strategically placed throughout the country to deal with strandings of marine animals, oil spills, fishing gear entanglement and in fact any type of marine animal in trouble.

The BDMLR does however still require donations to add to and maintain this equipment.  This includes rescue boats, equipment trailers, whale and dolphin pontoon sets, a whale disentanglement kit and each area has a medic kit with essential supplies.

We are fundraising to provide the Midlands area with a set of rescue pontoons and training aids. These training aids will enable BDMLR to train new marine mammal medics and be strategically placed to be diverted to any emergency around  the UK coast.
