PRINGLES EMERGENCY CARE

PRINGLES EMERGENCY CARE · 11 November 2020
Hi and Many Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page!.
My name is Sara and I'm a Marine Mammal Medic and lead a team of volunteers for British Divers Marine Life Rescue here in the Outer Hebrides.
On Monday 9th November 2020 a very young grey seal pup between 4 to 6 weeks of age, was found at Husinish Beach, Isle of Harris, Outer Hebrides.
Unfortunately, this young pup who we have named 'Pringle', was not found in the best of health and was not only unwell with a Respiratory Tract Infection, he was also severely dehydrated, extremely underweight, and had also sustained a large and very deep laceration to the side of his small body along with other small lacerations, as he'd been beaten up on the rocks with the storms, when we found him he couldn't even lift his head. The weather conditions were predicted to worsen further and Pringle was immediately uplifted by our medical team as it was clear he wouldn't survive on his own.
Pringle was then seen by a local vet who confirmed Pringle had an Upper Respiratory Infection on top of his injuries and dehydration and antibiotics were started straight away along with veterinary advice to continue his rehydration therapy.....
Pringle was taken to our area leads equipped home where he has received 24-hour care while we await his relay to a specialist center.
2 days on and we have a different Pringle!.
Pringle shall now as he's more stable continue his care with a Specialist Marine Mammal Veterinary Care Centre down In Stirling, Scotland and we are raising funds not only to get him there but to cover his veterinary fees any funds raised in excess of his needs will go towards helping our other sick and injured seal pups as we head into the pupping season.
So we ask even for a small amount as it all counts , please also can you share our story and tick the gift aid box.
Many thanks From Pringle and His Team x
