Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

So my Story, Myself (Ryan) back in 2013 went on a fun filled day out with my brother Sam on the motocross bikes.... or so we thought. We ended up lost and back tracking across a field as we were low on fuel. We ended up going a different way to which we came. Not really knowing the lay of the land we should of taken it steady. But we didn't. Adrenaline was racing... We raced each other laughing and not really paying attention. Next thing we knew we were both heading towards what can only be described as a Large ravine....

Slow motion kicked in, I anchored on my brakes, hitting the other side of the ravine roughly doing about 50mph.... I crumbled into pieces. Bent handle bars, split fuel tank.... broken arm, legs and worst of all back... Sam on the other hand led with a different approach. Throttle on head down.... he landed awkwardly his bike bucking him in the back. (He did clear it though which is impressive) in turn breaking his back AS WELL. We did not know the extent at the time. We both lay screaming for what felt like days. No phones we needed help. Sam and I argued who was going to walk to the house on the hill in the distance. I struggled to my feet collapsing in agonising pain. My brother my hero. Walked over a mile for help with a broken back. This is where the air ambulance landed and saved our lives as it seemed at the time. This is why I want to give back. Every day aches and struggles now is a constant reminder and I want to be able to help someone else in my shoes.

This is where my Best mate and Beard brother Graham (Gman) Barber comes into play. He's been my Best mate for over 10 years now. He truly is the king of hobbies and crazy ideas. We have shot archery, catapults, whiskey, eaten insects road trikes you name it we love it. So when Gray showed me his latest crazy interest 'kick biking' I wanted in! Kick bikes are basically mountain bikes without pedals. Much harder work than a normal bike.... 2 miles on one and you are shattered.... So that's when we thought let's do 127.5 miles Leeds to Liverpool for The air ambulance charity.... So that's what we are doing in July! We intend on carrying everything we need to survive the 4 day trek.... We don't want to make it too easy! HA!

It would mean the world to me if you could support us in any way big or small. Every little helps. Please look out for our Facebook page as we will be updating that hopefully making you all laugh.

Much love
