Shines Children (Uganda) UK Supporters supports work in Masindi and Mbale, Uganda, to relieve child poverty. We increase access to clean water, education and healthcare, vocational skills, and community initiatives such as village saving and lending schemes, health information and HIV prevention.

Story

In spite of UPE education program in Uganda allowing to learn children in age 6-13 without payments the reality is that only few primary schools make this. And even so, the classes counts very often 100 pupils and because of the lack of space not rarely under the tree for example.

As I visited Uganda this year and met some of these poor children there, I would like to show their fate, help at least one child and give him a chance to fight for a better future.

300 dollars will allow Isaac to attend his first year in primary school in Mbale in Uganda.

Below you will find the touching letter of Isaac's mother.

LETTTER FROM GRACE (Isaac's single mother):

My name is Ikomolot Hellen Grace, and a mother of Arikod Isaac Omujal. I am a single mother who looks after my Son Isaac. My husband (Late Okwakol Richardson Omujal   died in 2018) and left him with me.  I live in nakapiripiti district, In Uganda with my Children who I personally care for.

Now because of the little money I get as a nursing assistant, I cannot manage to look after the family and provide for their education needs.

I am appealing for support to my son’s Education. He is called Arikod Isaac Omujal who is 6 years and joining primary one. He is such a lovely boy who likes studies and his hobbies are playing football and watching cartoons and he likes fruits and greens as his food.

Since His father passed on, I have had to spend all my money I earn to take care of him and his siblings. Recently, he has recently been suffering from malaria and pneumonia, and now because I have done a lot of spending on his health, I cannot afford his school fees and other school’s needs.

Therefore, it’s from the above background, that I request for your support in his education, because education is the only hope for this family and we hope after his education, he can help me, his siblings and also the community at large.

Thank you.

Grace
