The Kirklees Light Railway is proud to once again join forces with the athletes of the Denby Dale Athletics Club for their annual Race the Train night.

This fun run see athletes attempt to Beat Badger on the run back from Shelley Station to Clayton West!

The running route is four miles long and has a 60 metre fall. The route follows footpaths, bridleways and there is a short section on some local side streets.

The race is open to all, however, competing athletes are asked to make a donation on the night to the Forget-Me-Not Children's Hospice.

In 2018, the race raised a whopping £400 in donations for the Hospice.

Runners and their supporters should arrive at Clayton West Station for 7pm. The train will depart Clayton West at 7.15pm and will transport runners and supporters to the start line at Shelley.
