Following the cancellation of this years Falmouth International Sea Shanty Festival the Virtual Sea Shanty 2020 event was held to raise money for the RNLI on Friday 12th June.

Story

The Sea Shanty Festival is the highlight of my year and so I was gutted when it had to be cancelled – likewise the RNLI is one of the charities that is so close to my heart and despite everything that is going on they amazingly are continuing to save lives around our coastline 24/7.

While I may have mothballed my collection bucket, Betty has gone high tech and set up this JustGiving page to raise as much as we can for the RNLI – so I am also challenging all our fantastic sea shanty groups to join me and try and beat my own personal target of £1,000.

Why not join us between 6pm-9pm on Friday 12th June for  Virtual Sea Shanty 2020 which will be a free evening of on-line entertainment and at the same time help the RNLI whose Lifeboats and their volunteer crews have remained on call 24/7 despite the Covid-19 pandemic. Your donation will help the RNLI to continue to save lives around our coast as it has done for nearly 200 years ensuring even in these difficult and testing times that we do all we can to save every one.

RNLI volunteer lifeboat crews provide a 24-hour search and rescue service all around the UK and Ireland, while lifeguards keep a careful watch on the UK’s busiest beaches. RNLI lifesaving and drowning prevention depend on supporter fundraising and the generous donations that you and others give.
