Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
On the 26th April we will be pounding the streets of London to take on the Virgin Money London Marathon. We are running in support of The Haemochromatosis Society to support research into the genetic disorder Haemochromatosis. Haemochromatosis is vastly misdiagnosed and if not diagnosed and treated in time can lead to organ damage and can even be fatal, and it is for that reason why we want to help this charity to help others.
Paul suffers from Haemochromatosis as does his Mother. Despite being diagnosed in his early twenties, after many consultations, ultrasound scans and liver biopsies, it was discovered that he had suffered damage to his liver which if undiagnoised could have led to possible cirrhosis of the liver and even liver cancer. Sadly, too many people are diagnosed too late in life and upsettingly in some instances, it can be too late to treat them - so support and research is vital!!
The support that Paul received from The Haemochromatosis Society (and Geoff) from his diagnosis and throughout his treatment was vital and we would like to give something back to this charity that has given so much to other sufferers and with your support we will achieve our goal.
Thanks for reading our story and thank you for your kind donations and support!
