The Gherkin Challenge is back for its 9th year and it's bigger than ever! On 28 October join us and take on 38 floors in one of London's most iconic skyscrapers.

Story

Hello and thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!

On Sunday 28th October 2018 I will be completing the NSPCC Gherkin Challenge. Sadly this doesn't involve competitive gherkin eating but instead involves running up all 38 floors of London's iconic skyscraper 'The Gherkin' to raise money for the NSPCC.

There are 38 floors with around 27 steps for each floor. That's at least 1026 steps in total with most likely a couple of bonus steps added in to take that thigh burn to the next level. Imagine how your thighs feel after 2 floors of stair-climbing and multiply that feeling by 19. Yes, I think I will be taking the lift back down...

I have a fundraising minimum target of £250 which could help NSPCC Childline counsellors speak to 60 children who reach out for support. However I've doubled this and would like to raise at least £500 which could help counsellors speak to 120 children in need of support. In the average time it takes to complete The Gherkin Challenge at least 26 children will call Childline in need of someone to talk to, so there's still lots of work (and fundraising) to be done!

If you have a little (or a lot of) money to give, please help me to support the NSPCC, the leading children's charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK. Every childhood is worth fighting for so absolutely anything you can spare to support this cause will be greatly appreciated.
