Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My dearest friend Laura lost her mother Patricia following the diagnosis of Ovarian cancer during the Covid Pandemic. A few of us are joining this Charity cycle ride in memory of Patricia who loved France and to support Laura with this challenge.

We hope to raise money for charities that raise awareness, provide support and fund research into breast, ovarian and cervical cancer. If these cancers are found early, through recognising the symptoms, self examination or screening, they can often be beaten and if found late there are more and more ground breaking treatments that can help patients lead full and longer lives, thanks to passionate hard working biomedical scientists.

As a GP I am constantly advising patients on how to modify their lifestyles in order to reduce their risk of Cancer and Heart disease. I must try to practice what I preach, however I am human with unhealthy vices. This Fundraising cycle challenge involves a gruelling 6 month training programme which will help me focus and start leading a more active and healthier lifestyle, thus reducing my risks of getting cancer, so I can be around longer for my family and friends.

If you would like to find out more, please read these succinct leaflets on Prevention and Spotting early diagnosis and share with friends and family.
