Story
Thornton Rose RDA is a vital service to our community within Midlothian by offering riding and pony interaction sessions to adults and young people. Everybody from our trustees, group coaches, first aiders, pony carers, poo pickers and those who help with each ride are volunteers giving up their time as they know just how crucial the service is. We need your help to continue caring for our horses and ensure that we are still up and running to welcome back those smiles (that's why we do it!) as soon as possible.
I have been volunteering with Thornton Rose since 2014 and it has been a fundamental part of my life and every Saturday since. It has enriched me in so many ways and allowed me to learn new skills from becoming a team leader, being a trustee and to hopefully after the pandemic train to be a coach. What I love most about RDA is seeing the difference that our horse riding and pony sessions can make to adults and young people. Thornton Rose is a fundamental charity for Midlothian that needs support to continue its work throughout these difficult times and beyond.
I am aiming to walk at least 50 miles between the first of February and Easter to raise some vital funds for Thornton Rose. I am really looking forward to this challenge, especially after using walking to build my fitness back up after being quite unwell last year. I hope to increase this even more over these next nine weeks and look forward to walking further every week!
If you can donate I would be incredibly grateful, but just sharing the page to help raise awareness of the fab work Thornton Rose RDA does every day would mean a lot!
