On 31st August 2024, on our 21st wedding anniversary, Simon and I are taking on a Mighty Hike along the along the picturesque Cornwall Coast to raise money for people living with cancer. Our family was affected by cancer when Simon was diagnosed. An emergency appendectomy in December 2022 revealed that the appendix had been cancerous. In March we found out that cancerous cells had been found in the bowel, colon and stomach lining. Major surgery took place in April which sadly did not go well. Simon had to have emergency surgery, developed sepsis, spent two weeks fighting for his life and two months in hospital with multiple complications. He had further surgery in November 2023. Despite all he went through, he is now in remission.

We have pledged to raise £500 and would appreciate any support in reaching this. By fundraising my pledge, We could pay for a Macmillan Support Worker for four days who could provide emotional, practical and financial advice to someone affected by cancer.
