Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!

When myself and Sasha, a good friend since primary school, were expecting our first babies just weeks apart, we were both delighted.

At just 31 weeks Sasha, went into early labour and gave birth to her beautiful baby boy, Harry. Weighing a tiny 3.14oz, he spent a few months in NICU and grew strong enough to come home. At one he was diagnosed with cerebral palsy (spastic Diplegia) which means he can't take part in certain activities, cannot walk unaided and gets extremely tired.

Harry works hard every day and has been working particularly to build strength in his legs and torso. In January this year, he was given the green light to have SDR (Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy). This operation is not a cure for Cerebral Palsy but can improve quality of life by reducing the muscle stiffness. The operation will give Harry a better outlook for the future, take away his pain and help him to get around easier. However, it is not funded through the NHS.

Harry has always been a solider fighting through his battles and putting his all into everything he does. I know that during my training and the marathon itself, when my legs tire, I will be able to draw upon Harry's determination and strength to power me through.

Anything you can give to help push me on and get Harry the treatment he deserves and has worked so hard for would be greatly appreciated.
