I've chosen to run the marathon to try and raise some money for The Declan John Foundation. For those of you who don't know, my beautiful friend zoe and her lovely husband Simon lost their little boy Declan John Parkes, still born at just over 40 weeks on 26/02/21. The heartbreak this left everyone feeling, especially zoe and Simon, is just unimaginable. Somehow through the grief, zoe and Simon have managed to set up this charity, with a view of giving emotional support through care packages, to recently bereaved parents and women who have suffered miscarriages, before they leave the hospital.
