10 Triathlons in 10 Days · 15 May 2018

We empower homeless and vulnerable adults to rebuild their lives by offering practical services, advice and emotional support. We are determined to cater for the needs of the most vulnerable in our society by supporting people into recovery and advocating for those without a voice.

Story

In May 2018, to mark the Friary’s 30th birthday, I’m aiming to complete 10 Triathlons in 10 Days. Each of these involves a 5 km run, a 20 km bike ride and a 750 m swim.

I’ve been with the Friary for 8 years, firstly as a volunteer and since 2014
as a member of staff.
The Friary supports homeless and vulnerable people in rebuilding their lives. We offer practical services (food, clothing, shower etc.), advice and emotional support. Visitors can also see a range of health professionals including a GP and a nurse specialising in treating rough sleepers.

As a drop-in we’re open 3 mornings a week with an average of 90 attendees each morning. At other times, people can be seen by appointment.

In addition to their housing and/or financial situation, individuals who use the Friary often face a number of other challenges including mental and physical health problems, substance misuse, social exclusion, illiteracy and domestic abuse/violence.

If you’re able to sponsor me, that would be great and very much appreciated and a real motivation when training for and actually doing the challenge.

Thank you for getting this far!
