Theo climbs Snowdon · 4 May 2022

Lewy body dementia is the second most common cause of age-related dementia, affecting around 130,000 people in the UK. We raise awareness of the disease, provide information to patients and carers, and fund research so that in future it can be more easily diagnosed and treated.

Story

Theo, our 6 year old has been learning all about charity and how it can help others in need.

A very close friend of our family has a parent that  very sadly has been living with Lewy Body Dementia for many years now. Theo has seen the impact that this has had not only on  the dementia survivor, but on their family and friends also. When talking about this Theo was very keen to do all that he could to help and wanted to challenge himself in doing so.

So we did the thing we thought was best and let him decide what challenge he’d like to do. That was to climb Snowdon. Ste and I will be right there with him throughout.

We are hoping to do the climb towards the end of May. The exact date isn’t set as it will be weather dependant. If anyone would kindly donate I’m sure Theo would very much appreciate it, just as much as the Lewy Body Society will

The Lewy Body Society was founded in 2006 to support research into Lewy body dementia and to raise awareness of the disease. They aim to educate the public, the medical professions and those in decision-making positions about the disease, which unfortunately is still not well known.
