On September 22nd I'm taking part in the Bronze Peak District Challenge - a 50km walk though the Peaks, to be completed within a 13 hour target. 

I can often be found on the side of a mountain, but this is a bit different to the usual - 50km is the distance from Central London to Stevenage or Maidenhead, and the elevation change is the equivalent of climbing Ben Nevis, all in a day. The pace is going to be fast, the climbs gruelling, and we have to navigate...

Kiota is an independent charity set up to raise project specific funds for Kiota Womens Health and Development (KIWOHEDE), a Tanzanian organisation working for the rights, health and development of women and children in Tanzania. Over the last 12 months, Kiota has funded:

• Four full time teachers, including a head teacher
• Stationery and teaching aids
• A snack and light lunch for the students and staff
• Social work outreach and student welfare costs, including
  medical costs
• Electricity and water
• Two security guards
• 20 sets of essential school books
• Building maintenance
• School trips, including for sport and core subjects
• Travel to a residential maths camp
